    Well here Iam again with this car (currently a shell) back in 2011 I bought it as a toy and spent a few quid on it.

    I sold that up to buy a house and always craved another. I broke the car for parts and kept some for the s2.
    I kept in contact with the lad I sold the shell to and after a few years he hadn't done much with it and offered it me back.

    The plan with it was to k20 it over a period of time but the realisation of family life and 65+ hours a week at work soon hit. I made an offer on a s1 that had been for sale for a while it was rejected but I messaged again a while later and he accepted. So for a silly price I ended up with this as a donor.

    Spec wise it's pretty decent

    Colin satchel/gsxr bodies
    Predator ecu
    Ph3 cams
    Pugsport
    421 manifold
    Making 169bhp and it defo feels like it.

    B8 suspension
    Hi spec 4 pots
    Polly carbs in the rears
    Copper rear lines with bias valve
    All pollybushed
    Braided lines

    There's more and hopefully will be a pretty straight swap over. There's a few bits I want to do as I'm putting it all together as it'll be easier.

    Welcome back, although it's pretty quiet here! Look forward to the updates. Not sure if it's me but I can't see the pictures!

      yeah it looks pretty slow on here now which is a shame but it was slow when i was on here a few years back. ill use this as a build blog and upload a pic now and again on the fb group.

        Its nice that you got your old shell back... Was that for sentimental reasons or because of spec?

        Yep pretty quiet here post wise these days but none the less its worth supporting as a resource and most peeps are busy, it would be nice to know how much traffic there is tho ..... I've been meaning to update my thread for 3yrs...... 65hrs a week - Lucky you!

            Sentimental reasons I had a blast in the car when I had it. At the time I should of just fixed the head gasket and used it. Seems a lot of builds end when people get too deep.
            The shell was decent I'd done a lot of rust removal etc so knew what shape it was in. Plus the cage being fitted and some nice bits meant it was pretty much a no brainer.

              Little update, ive stripped the donor rallye and thats ready to go.

              Transferred the engine across as the engine bay didnt need any real work.

              I was going to use the alternator set up from a saxo but it didnt fit my block. i didn't realize it didn't always fit should of tried fitting it when the engine was out ended up being a waste of time.

              When i dont have much time i tinker at the clean end of the car in the engine bay. i started to fit the fuel lines in the bay. this is how it was routed from the previous car. very untidy.

              instead of mounting the FPR on the throttle cable bracket i mounted it on the bulthead.

              Decided to trim the scuttle panel for the ITBs

              ive made a few purchases got a odyssey battery and new brake lines as i didnt facy making new copper ones and the fronts from the previous car were abit manky.

              Now the dirty end of the car thats taking up all the time at the moment is the back end, the only part of the shell i hadn't previously tackled any rust on. luckily this time ive got a garage to do it in. but only having two ours on a Friday afternoon if im lucky means its taking a while sorting.

              Thats how it stands at the moment. i keep having thoughts of just chopping the lot out and fabricating new parts, using the cage as mounting points for the rear beam and add in a new floor and alloy tank.

                  The car will be much like it was in that pic. Nothing too serious in terms of spec but a nice all round package. It had just been painted in that so won't be quite as clean.

                    Well after a few looong and painful months ive finally managed to get the rust sorted on the rallye. certainly not a fun process.
                    I realise my welding isnt amazing but im still relatively inexperienced im very much learning as i go along french metal and not using an argon mix doesn't help.
                    i picked up a air compressor with a few tools to help the build along. although not a massive tank or properly good air tools most seem to be ok for what i need.

                    And some seam sealer and underseal. the thought of not having to get back underneath this to fight rust is certainly a pleasant one.

                    I then wanted to sort the roll cage gussets out. i wasn't a fan of what was on when i got the shell so cut them out and replaced them.

                    i was going to leave the column support the previous seat rail efforts and exhaust tunnel bulge but thought balls to it might aswell do it now whilst its how it is and im still waiting on a few bits to complete the build so made a start removing the column support.

                      that alternator bracket looks perfect, its what is on the JP4 in the S1 I'm helping with, came off an 8v.

                      you have the top part in the wrong holes and are offering the bottom section much too high, its ideal for an engine running a 4 branch as its much further away from the manifold, easy to bolt a heat shield to, which the 8v had originally anyway, and its manual tensioned so less moving parts.

                        Yeah that the one. It came off my old Saxo but when trying to fit I did some googling and it came back that there are two types of bracket.
                        I might of been having a bad day but at the time it wasn't lining up.

                              I really can't remember what block it was off. I've had it a few years just stored in the garage. It was either from a 1.1 or the 8v vts (had a 1.1 Saxo the head gasket went so did a vts conversion so it's likely off of the 1.1)

                              It was the bottom Bracket that wouldn't fit. Two holes lined up but one was off.
